This is Curt with etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the CVT Timber Creek Window Canopy. Now this is gonna be an excellent option for you if you enjoy car camping, and you're looking for something to really kind of increase that airflow while you're sleeping at night, while also kind of trying to diminish any of that condensation that could form up in the side the car, and also keep out a lot of the rain and things like that. So this is a canopy that's gonna do all of those things. It's gonna have a mesh window here that's gonna be screened to keep any of the bugs out at night, while also providing this nice little canopy over the top to keep a majority of the rain and moisture out. As we open it up, we'll take a look and see how it attaches. So essentially it just drapes over your window and this is a universal fit.
It's not gonna be vehicle specific. It's fit to go into the second row of your truck, or SUV. It's got a long elastic nylon cord here that you're gonna use to wrap around and anchor it down on something. Now different doors are gonna have different designs, so you may be able to run this underneath your actual armrest. In the case of our vehicle today, we didn't really have any of that, so we kind of anchored it all the way to the bottom as such.
However, whenever you're doing something like that, however you set it up, there are a couple of things that you wanna look out for. One, being you want to get outta the way of our door latch. And two, we wanna make sure that it's not gonna interfere with our door hinge. The canopy is held in place by a single segmented tent pole, so it'll be anchored on each corner and there is one single sleeve that it goes through. So it can take a little bit of work to get that through, especially since there are corner pieces here that have a bend to 'em, almost a 90 degree bend.
But if you segment them and feed 'em through around those bends like that, it becomes much easier. And not only do we have this mesh surface here, we could also zip it up for privacy if we need to. So there is gonna be an included, basically like a tent flap would work. This works the exact same way as your tent door would. So I wanna talk a little bit about how I would personally use it.
I am somebody that actually enjoys car camping, just putting a SUV air mattress in here with a canopy just like this, and just going out, and being able to park and drive off, you know, wherever I want to. Easy setup. But one of the things that I did always run into was airflow problems at night, especially on the hotter summer nights. While you know the door to an SUV canopy tent might be pretty big, and you'd think, oh, I've got that big opening, airflow's gonna be great. If the rest of the vehicle is closed up to keep bugs out, that's not really gonna be the case. You're kind of just recycling the same hot air over and over and sleeping and it doesn't make for a very comfortable night. So what I've used in the past is there are a lot of things out there are that are just mesh socks that go over the window, which are kind of cool and everything. But I have been caught in situations where it did start raining and that would let water in being at an angle on the window. Having something like this set up so that air can actually pass through completely and basically get all that circulation, get fresh air through, just makes for a much more comfortable evening of sleep. And if it we inchesre me and my setup, I would actually get a second one of these and set it up opposite, like on the driver's side, just to increase that airflow and increase the comfort in my night's sleep. So there's a look at the CVT Timber Creek window canopy. Again, this is gonna work on the second row of your car, truck, SUV, for the next time you wanna go car camping, and get all that extra airflow, and get that comfortable night's sleep. And if you get an opportunity to go ahead and get this and use it on your next trip, I hope you share with us what you think about it in the comments below. I'd love to share your experience with other neighbors so they can make the best decision for themselves. Once again, this is Curt with etrailer. Thanks for stopping by.
worked great on my 2015 Ford Explorer! I wish it had a secure way to keep the bugs out at the bottom. I think some magnets might solve that problem. I did not have any bugs come in, but know the could crawl in if wanted to. However, I knew this limitation when I bought the window canopy.
I had been looking for this rain guard/mosquito netting combo for a long time and all were so very expensive! Your prices are very competitive, plus you ship to Puerto Rico; win/win!!! Thank you!
Works great. May order another one
Not a good fit for my 2025 Honda pilot.
These seem pretty good. The zippers work great and the awning should work good to keep sun/rain out.
They are a wrap around type and do not slip over the door, I was disappointed to see how they fit. And the outside bottom is not super snug.
I'm not certain they will keep bugs out.
Fits great easy to install.
Great product and Great service!
